Webb17 apr. 2013 · Standing Bear Hostel was a interesting stay. The people there were a unique bunch. We were able to get showers and set up our tent in a field. We also picked up some more food for the next couple of days to get us to Hot Springs. The First photo is the trail sign at Newfound Gap heading north. At least I think it took that long. We arrived around 10:30 and found several other cars in the lot. I donned my pack, grabbed my trekking poles, and headed up the loop trail. Max Patch Loop Sign The hike towards the summit was very nice.

The humidity had my shirt soaked as climbed up Snowbird Mtn and Max Patch. I’ve been to Max Patch a handful of times and the views were again beautiful.
